What are Alzheimer’s Biomarkers?

Apolipoprotein E (ApoE) Genotype

ApoE is a gene that plays a role in how your body processes fats, and certain versions (especially ApoE4) are linked to a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. This test helps predict long-term brain health—even decades before symptoms appear.

Example: Think of ApoE as a genetic fortune-teller for your brain—it doesn’t guarantee Alzheimer’s will happen, but it tells you if you might be more at risk, so you can take action early.

How it’s measured: Genetic blood test that identifies the specific ApoE gene variant you carry (e.g., E2, E3, E4).
